Lancechain.com - "Getting work done" - but with no fees

The "gig economy", that part of the job market in which short- to medium-term projects are awarded to freelancers, is booming. Freelancers contributed around 1.4 billion to American economic output in 2017, a whopping 40% increase over 2016.
Clients and contractors can be found in the "Gig Economy" mostly through online portals such as Upwork.com or Xing.com, which has now reached a high profile, especially in German-speaking countries. The mediation between employer and freelancer in portals specialized in this market, however, costs fees, sometimes up to 30% of the agreed amount of benefits. Also in short-term employment often disputes are inevitable. The quality of the delivered work does not match the agreed performance, payments are delayed or completely suspended. This often results in unlawfully blocked accounts, which can result in even greater financial losses for the injured party.
The Lancechain.com project aims to establish a comprehensive yet easy-to-use portal for employers and freelancers with the blockchain-based Lancechain platform. And without fees.

The Lancechain.com platform
The Lancechain platform enables freelancers and potential clients to connect with maximum cost-effectiveness for both sides. So Lancechain requires - unlike the competition in the market - no agency fee. This is where Lancechain's main benefit is the use of Blockchain, which already provides transparency and security by design, greatly simplifying the time-consuming and expensive switching required by popular portals.
The following graphs illustrate the differences between classic mediation portals on the one hand and Lancechain.com on the other:

Mediation in conventional portals
Mediation via Lancechain.com

Conventional portals not only mediate but actually act as mediators. For example, payments are often processed via the portals. These receive the money from the client and transfer it to the contractor. In addition to the delayed payment, the freelancer often incurs additional costs if the customer's national currency does not correspond to that of the freelancer, for example, from USD to EUR.
The payment is made at Lancechain in return directly between the client and freelancer, usually directly in the platform's own currency LANC. After the Blockchain is used here as already mentioned, the transfer happens by default within a few seconds, expenses for currency exchange or similar. completely eliminated. The freelancer gets his money not only much faster but can if necessary also immediately transfer to a stock exchange and possibly against Bitcoin, ETH and co. exchange.
Rather than relying on high brokerage fees, Lancechain.com offers freelancers and employers a variety of optional features, which are briefly described below.

Top talents - looking for suitable freelancers

The search for suitable freelancers is extremely time-consuming, above all for companies that are inexperienced in this field - and unfortunately at the beginning often unsuccessful. Lancechain offers the opportunity here to take over this time-consuming search for the respective client and to search for him for the most suitable freelancers.
The top talent base is reached by proactively rating freelancers who are registered with the platform. So Lancechain gradually creates a comprehensive database in which the freelancers are categorized. If an employer now searches for certain constellations such as "speaks Russian and can AngularJS", the most suitable (and currently free) user can be determined in a targeted manner from this database.
In addition to the proactive categorization of freelancers, Lancechain offers the opportunity for users to be certified and to demonstrate certain skills. The employer is provided with additional security so that the chosen contractor actually brings the skills that are expected of him or her. Freelancers, on the other hand, are given the opportunity to emphasize their ability profile much better and, if necessary, to drive up the market price.

Dispute resolution in case of contract problems

The gig economy is dominated by mostly short - but all the more intense - project phases. If the employer does not fit the delivered work or is late for payment, disputes are usually inevitable. Lancechain offers the opportunity to act as a mediator in such cases. For this purpose, the concept of the so-called "Decentralized Expert Teams" was developed. These teams are made up of "Subject Matter Experts" who, in case of dispute, can solve problems in a qualified manner and can, for example, evaluate completed work.
If freelancers want to participate in dispute resolution, they can apply as Subject Matter Expert for their area of expertise. The community (consisting of all LANC token owners) can raise the freelancers to the status of Subject Matter Expert. In addition, Lancechain also selects freelancers for specific skill profiles and offers Subject Matter Expert status. If disputes occur, a Decentralized Expert Team is formed from Subject Matter Experts, who are considered experts for the respective dispute and then try to settle the dispute.
Should Lancechain act as a mediator then a fixed fee will be charged. This should prevent the dispute being abused and, for example, used as a means of pressure between the parties to the dispute.

Project Management as a Service

Above all IT projects stand and fall with good project management. Finding good and, above all, experienced project managers often turns out to be difficult, outsourcing this activity to external, project management specialized, consulting firms is hard to finance, especially for small businesses. For this reason, Lancechain offers another additional feature: "Project Management as a Service". Lancechain builds up a pool of certified and experienced project managers who can be booked by companies as needed and offer project management services as a service.

The Lancechain Token

As a utility token, Lancechain uses the Ethereum-based LANC token (total supply of just under 97 million). The use of this token primarily guarantees that the transfer of payment services can take place without charges.
However, the token has a few other unique selling points in addition to the pure payment function. For example, token owners can participate in the evaluation of the top talents, where they in turn receive additional tokens in return for their work. Also, token owners can participate in dispute resolution by enabling certain freelancers to become Subject Matter Experts.
In addition to the pure payment function, the token fulfills the function of a ticket to the extensive and challenging community features of the Lancechain platform. Here are the details of the token summarized again:

The team behind Lancechain.com

The Lancechain.com team has over 10 years of experience in using a wide variety of freelance platforms and knows both the client's and freelancer's sides. These experiences also laid the foundation for the idea of launching Lancechain.com: Freelancing should be as easy as possible, with no extra fees and as exciting and exciting as possible.
One of the core competencies of the team is the development of software. In addition to the core technical disciplines such as classical development activities and the architecture of software, sales and marketing specialists, the team also consists of experienced project managers who will offer their knowledge in the course of the "Project Management as a Service" feature.
If you would like to know more about the team, you can access the individual vitae of the team members https://lancechain.com/#team ) via the homepage, each with linked LinkedIn profiles.

Start of the ICO and the roadmap

The presale of the LANC-ICO will start in February 2018. ICO laps 1 and 2 will then start in March and April 2018 respectively, with ICO bonuses decreasing massively from round to round. Potential investors should therefore invest as soon as possible. Here is the overview of the detailed data of the ICO:

Both the white paper and the homepage contain the roadmap (https://lancechain.com/#roadmap) of the project. The core of the roadmap is - of course, in addition to the ICO - the launch of the token on Exchanges, which is planned in June, and the actual platform launch of Lancechain.com in the fourth quarter of 2018. From this point, so freelancers around the globe on the platform offers receive and if necessary accept directly. This will also be the starting shot for the talent evaluation of the users and in the case of the case also the dispute settlement. Lancechain is planning an "early adopter" program in order to quickly win both the client and the freelancer for the platform.
The first users of the platform receive 10% of the project value as a reward. This means: If a 1000 € project is successfully handled via Lancechain.com, the freelancer will receive 1100 €, the client will pay in return only 900 €. The payment of 100 € takes the form of LANC tokens, for which Lancechain.com has reserved exactly 10% of the complete token supply (a total of just under 9.7 million tokens.

Summary and Outlook

Generation Y is said to want to live without being tied up. This could be one of the reasons why the gig economy is booming and, according to market analysis, will account for more than 50% of all employment in the next decade. Various platforms have already taken advantage of this trend and provide freelancers to potential employers - at some horrendous fees.
This is precisely where Lancechain comes in and uses Blockchain to develop a platform that manages without these horrendous fees and in return offers extensive features such as a database of talents, "Project Management as a Service" and innovative dispute resolution concepts. The project makes use of the in-house LANC token which, in addition to the guaranteed toll-free payment function, is also used as a community tool.
What I find particularly impressive - of course, aside from the project idea itself - above all the whitepaper. I've rarely read such a detailed, clearly structured and, most importantly, coherent white paper. Here you probably also notice the background of the team, which comes mostly from software development and project management. The key factor in the success of this project, in my opinion, is whether the team will succeed in promoting Lancechain.com accordingly. The white paper has its own chapters on marketing strategy, where the most important planned advertising measures, such as targeted marketing via social media and contextual marketing, are discussed in detail. Also, the Early Adopter program has created a way to bind customers to the portal early, at a comparatively low cost. For me, this shows that the team is fully aware of key success factors and will do everything in their power to reach the intended goal: to facilitate freelancing worldwide, exciting, challenging but above all free of charge.
